The first time I heard about Xavier Rudd was two summers ago in Australia. His music travelled with me through all my journey over there. At this day it still stays one of the best souvenirs of my life.
Xavier Rudd is an amazing performing artist. He plays percution, drums, guitar, didgeridoo and sings all at the same time. His music can be related to folk-rock, a bit like Ben Harper, and has a mystical, trance feeling that probably comes from his fascination for the Aborigenes culture in Australia. His voice has a little something of Paul Simon.
He was playing in concert last night in Portland. It was a great show. People were crazy. A little girl, a little angel, even hopped on stage to dance with to his music. Here is a short video of one of the songs he played last night:
